Korea Information Strategy Development Institute (KISDI)

KISDI was founded in 1985 as the state-run agency to establish IT policies and produce assistance measures for venture enterprises. KISDI projects are under way to study the broadband access industry and corporate analysis. (www.kisdi.re.kr)

Electronics and Telecommunication Research (ETRI)

Founded in 1976 as the state-owned R&D agency to enhance IT technology, has spearheaded the major national R&D projects such as TDX development. Currently, ETRI is leading a consortium of enterprises for R&D projects of telecommunications and networking technology.(www.etri.re.kr)

The Ministry of Information & Communications (MIC)

The Ministry's missions are to promote IT industry, accelerate the informatization, establish major IT policies on broadband Internet access, etc., and lead assistance efforts for IT venture companies. (www.mic.go.kr)

Home Network Council

The Home Network Council was founded in May 2002 to promote digital home industry through its programs to develop home network service and apply it to digital homes. The Council's tasks are to collect a joint industrial response to the standardization, promote public awareness about home networking, nurture home networking specialists, and facilitate the exchange of informations among industry, universities, and research institutions under the close cooperation ties. Korea Association of Information and Telecommunication (KAIT)

KAIT was established in 1987 as an intermediary to facilitate cooperation between the industry and the government. KAIT has since contributed to the promotion of an IT infrastructure and to the foundation for an information society through its programs aimed to facilitate the use of the IT networks. The Foundation of Korean Information Industries (FKII)

< As an IT-related private institution, FKII has carried out an advisory role for the government to stress the importance of fostering the IT industry as the national strategic industry. FKII also provides the industries with consulting services aimed at boosting IT competitiveness. Diverse programs are implemented by FKII to enhance the overall level of informatization. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE)

The goal of MOCIE is to promote the national competitiveness of the trading, industrial and investment sectors through its policy implementations aimed at boosting a fair transaction, a balanced industrial growth, stable energy supply and rational & efficient energy utilization. (www.mocie.go.kr)

Korea Industrial Complex Corp (KICOX)

KICOX was commissioned by the authorities responsible for managing the national industrial estates (the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy) to develop and manage the industrial complexes and to provide assistance to the companies that are located in the industrial estates. (www.kicox.or.kr)
