South Chungcheong Attracts Corporate Investment Worth KRW 399.2 Bln

(HONGSEONG=Yonhap News) Twenty eight companies, including 5 based in the capital area, have decided to invest a atotal of KRW 399.2 billion to build production facilities in South Chungcheong Province.

On December 20, at the Deoksan Spa Castle in Yesan-gun, South Chungcheong governor Ahn Hee-jung signed a joint investment agreement with the heads of 10 cities and counties, and representatives of the 28 companies.

Microfriend, a company based in Seoul, will invest KRW 36.3 billion to build a semiconductor testing equipment factory at the Asan Digital Industrial Complex by 2020.

Hana Materials will invest KRW 57.2 billion to build a factory that produces specialty gases for semiconductor processing at the Asan Digital Industrial Complex by 2020.

Auto parts maker SNSM Tech will invest KRW 23 billion to build a new factory at the Boryeong Gwanchang General Industrial Complex by 2020.

Aluko will inject KRW 38.7 billion into building an aluminum sash factor at the Nonsan Gayagok 2nd Agro-industrial Complex by 2022.

The province expects the investments to create an annual production inducement effect of KRW 620.5 billion and 2,388 new jobs.
