Chungnam-do will proceed with 22 projects in five years to promote culture and art

The province discussed policies governing culture and art education at "1st Chungnam-do support council for culture and art education" at a provincial government office on January 16 .

The council, headed by a vice mayor, consists of 17 members including experts from city's education office, schools, and relevant fields is assigned to play the role in helping citizens take the lead in culture and art activities.

The council offered a venue for discussion and presentation for a plan for culture, art, and education in next five years by 2023.

According to the plan presented at the council, the province will commit KRW 12.1 billion in five years to push for 22 projects, including the establishment of culture and art education promotion ordinance, placing those in charge of culture and art education policies in every city and provincial government, facilitating education focused on cultural centers like museums and art museums, and fostering culture and art education for kindergartens.

A vice mayor said "we will produce significant achievements by setting schedule by year for each project to help citizens enjoy culture and art".
