  • Graphene-based nanomedicine: The company has developed a technology about pharmaceutical compositions for the prevention or treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, and which contains graphene nanostructures as an active ingredient. This pharmaceutical composition is the result of the first attempt ever to use graphene nanostructures for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. This technology can be applied to Parkinson's disease, which has the second highest incidence rate of all neurodegenerative diseases, and Niemann Pick disease, which is a rare and refractory children’s disease. • Neurodegenerative disease treatment market: The number of patients with degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's disease is steadily increasing due to the global trend towards an aging population. According to the RENSIT and Harvard University survey reported in 2019, about 52.5 million patients suffer from various neurodegenerative diseases around the world, and 2.6 million patients die every year. The size of the global neurodegenerative disease treatment market stood at USD 35 billion in 2018, and is expected to grow at annual average growth rate of 7.4% to reach USD 62 million by 2026.
