The Daejeon Metropolitan City proposed the "Global Cities Union" at the "2023 Global Innopolis Forum" on October 6 and adopted a joint declaration.

Daejeon-si said that its Mayor proposed a 'Global Cities Union' for scientific and economic cooperation to the delegations of five overseas cities participating in the forum at a closed session of the city representatives' meeting held at the Daejeon Convention Center.

The Global Cities Union is a platform that discusses and shares urban innovation and sustainable economic development plans based on science and technology. The delegation from five overseas cities agreed to the creation of a "Global Cities Union" proposed Daejon's mayor and adopted a joint declaration.

The joint declaration was signed by Dajeon's mayor and representatives from Málaga (Spain), Seattle (US), Montgomery county (US), Calgary (Canada), and Dortmund (Germany).

Meanwhile, the 2023 Global Innopolis Forum was held at the Daejeon Convention Center on October 5-6 under the theme of sustainable urban development models, with about 20 delegations from five overseas cities and 200 experts from home and abroad participating.
