International Youth Fellowship to Hold Home Coming Ceremony at Gwangju

International Youth Fellowship (IYF) said on February 23rd that the ninth Goods News Corps members will have a home coming ceremony at Gwangju Culture and Sports Center, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju on February 27th.

 

About 400 Good News Corps members will give presentations on their one-year experience of other cultures in 65 countries.

 

They stayed in Africa, South America, India, and other countries with local residents, experiencing touching moments, pleasures, hunger, and endemic diseases. They also went to jungles and remote areas.

 

At the ceremony, the members will report their overseas voluntary work experience through cultural performance, musicals, and plays of each country.

 

Good News Corps plans to have presentations at ten major cities across the country from Incheon on January 24th to Busan on March 7th.

 

Executive Director Gwon Myeong-hwan of Gwangju Office of IYF said “Good News Corps is an excellent opportunity for teenagers to experience foreign cultures, have overseas trips, and learn foreign languages. The experience will allow them to realize that they can be happy when they contribute to other people’s lives.”

 

IYF is recruiting the tenth Good News Corps members to volunteer at 80 countries from this month to the end of the year.

 

Also, IYF operates ‘World Camp’ which is to invite foreign university students for the purpose of nurturing global leaders through international cultural exchange and ‘Global Camp’ through which Korean university students visit major cities around the world.
