According to Yonhap News,

Gangneung City, Gangwon Province will build industrial and agricultural industrial complexes in the new year.

According to Gangneung City, it will invest KRW 45.4 billion to construct a general industrial complex in Jusu-ri, Okgye-myeon. The basic design will be completed in January and the construction will begin March, and finished by late 2013.

New roads will be built including one bridge with the investment of KRW 27.1 billion. The total length will be 470 m, and its construction will start in March. Project cost of KRW 1 billion has been secured for this year.

A pipe conduit of 11.6 km will be installed from Jeongdongjin to the industrial complex to supply 5,000 tons of water a day. Out of the total investment of KRW 8.5 billion, KRW 1,854 million will be injected this year.

Waste water treatment facilities will be built with the daily capacity of 1,250 m³. The basic plan will be approved by late March, and the construction will be completed by next year.

A new agricultural industrial complex will be created nearby Jumunjin Agricultural Industrial Complex, which is now saturated, on the area of 150,900 m² with the investment of KRW 12 billion by late 2012.

Design for the complexes and the environmental, traffic, and disaster effects evaluation are underway. The designation and approval of industrial complexes will be granted June before the ground will be broken in August.

A total of 37 companies are operating in Jumunjin Agricultural Industrial Complex, which was created in 1989. Because of its small area, a new one is planned.

An official of the City said “the new agricultural industrial complex will mainly focus on businesses that do not produce waste water to preserve the regional environment.”
