Jeju will begin to develop the globally advanced drone and aviation infrastructure in earnest. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province will operate a real-time drone identification system in an air control zone of the Jeju International Airport and demonstrate a drone logistics delivery service customized for island areas.

Jeju was finally selected in the public contest for “2023 Drone Demonstration City Development Project” held by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) and the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology (KIAST). Jeju has been selected in the public contest for drone demonstration city for two consecutive years from 2019 to 2020 for the first time in Korea and led the drone demonstration and commercialization service by designating a special drone zone largest in Korea and being selected as an excellent local government agency.

Project that demonstrates the real-time drone identification system

An identification system will be installed on drones that fly in an air control zone of the Jeju International Airport which handles the most passengers in Korea. Drone logistics delivery service customized for island areas
