Gongju-si attracted 90 companies since 2018...investment worth KRW 284 bln

Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do, announced on September 8 that a total of 90 companies were attracted from 2018 to August this year since the 7th popularly elected local government came to office.

The total amount of investment reached KRW 284 billion, with hiring about 1,410 employees.

69 companies were attracted to industrial (agricultural and industrial) complexes, accounting for 77% of the total, and 21 companies moved into individual locations.

It attracted NC Chem, a semiconductor material and specialty chemicals company, to the Tancheon General Industrial Complex, and signed investment contract with Dasan Energy (worth KRW 13 billion), with Bioneer (worth KRW 83.3 billion), and with Dongin Chemical (worth KRW 12 billion) in March this year.

It also signed an investment agreement with Uni-President Enterprises Corp, the first foreign-invested company in the 7th popularly elected local government, and secured a commitment to invest KRW 27.5 billion in the Yugu Agricultural Complex over the next five years in expanding the factory.

Gongju's mayor said, "we will do our best not only to attract high-quality companies, but also to create a favorable environment for these companies to do business."
