South Chungcheong Province and executives of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held a conference yesterday to find cooperative ways to attract investment in ongoing projects.

Participants included 30 investment promotion experts from KOTRA’s Investment Planning Department, Investment Promotion Department, Inbound Investment Consulting Division, and Investment Aftercare Division. The conference included a briefing session about the province’s current projects, discussion of investment promotion measures, and a site visit. It aimed to promote investment through cooperation and communication with KOTRA.

At the briefing session, South Chungcheong Province stressed that the Foreign Investment District of the Cheonan 5 Industrial Complex, designated December 21, is a highly competitive lease-type complex and that the Naepo New Town, a new center of South Chungcheong Province, boasts good settlement conditions and the potential to be a good investment.

“Selected the best organization for foreign investment promotion last year and having ranked first in domestic investment promotion since 2000, South Chungcheong Province has played a leading role in investment promotion, and its passion has brought us here,” said Shin Nam-shik, Chief of the Investment Planning Department at KOTRA. “We deeply understand the value of the projects the province introduced today and will actively help the province attract investment.”

Choi Un-hyun, Head of the Economic and Trade Office of South Chungcheong Province, said, “We will endeavor to promote investment in the Foreign Investment District of the Cheonan 5 Industrial Complex and the Naepo New Town by strengthening cooperation to continuously promote investment with KOTRA and making the most of various channels and expertise.”
