Volvo Trucks Korea Establishes Truck Delivery Center at Pyeongtaek Port

(SEOUL=Yonhap News)Volvo Trucks Korea held a completion ceremony for the Volvo Truck Multiplex Delivery Center in the hinterlands of Pyeongtaek Port on May 13.

The event was attended by 200 participants, including the Swedish Ambassador to Korea Lars Danielsson, Nam Choong-hee, Vice Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, Lee Don-kyung, Director of Pyeongtaek Customs, and Christophe Martin, President of Volvo Group Trucks Asia Oceania Sales.

The company also held a joint delivery ceremony on May 12, offering customers 30 new trucks that were unveiled for the first time in the Asian market.

Volvo Group invested USD 25 million in the 47,524㎡ center, which is five times the size of its Changwon plant. Vehicle delivery, driver education and car assembly are also available at the center, which provides visiting customers and the families of employees with a rest area and amenities as well.

The group plans to expand the facility with additional investments by 2024.
