KEA and OffTECH (German) joined hands for offshore wind power generation technology and safety

The Korea Electric Association (KEA) is to develop offshore wind power generation and strengthen safety training together with OffTECH, a German company specialized in fostering manpower in the field for offshore wind power generation.

The KEA said on May 6 that it signed an MOU on cooperation in offshore wind power generation technology development and safety training with OffTECH on May 5 (local time) at OffTECH's German training center.

Based on the MOU, the two parties will be cooperating in such fields as offshore wind power generation technology development, safety training, special seminar program, and international cooperation research areas.

They will also work together to develop manpower training programs to operate and manage overall system of offshore wind power generation, and enhance agreements related with establishment of offshore wind power industry support center. In addition, they will strengthen cooperation on the qualification and safety training in every course of offshore wind power generation plants.

An official from the KEA said, "This MOU will provide an opportunity to advance domestic offshore wind power generation technology and safety," adding, "it will help achievements of carbon neutrality."
