The agricultural and fisheries food exports from Jeonbuk State in the first half of this year have increased by nearly 10% compared to the same period last year.

According to statistics from the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) provided by Jeonbuk State on July 31st, the agricultural and fisheries food export value from January to June this year was USD 311 million (approximately KRW 430.5 billion), representing a 9.6% increase compared to the same period last year.

Jeonbuk State said that this figure surpasses the national average increase rate of 8.1%.

In particular, Jeonbuk's agricultural and fisheries food exports have been on an upward trajectory, with exports rising from USD 497 million (approximately KRW 690.6 billion) in 2022, to USD 505 million (approximately KRW 701.7 billion) in 2023, and USD 596 million (approximately KRW 828.1 billion) in 2024.

The main products driving the export growth include ramen, seaweed, bread, and kimchi, with exports to Asian markets, particularly China, Japan, and Thailand, leading the growth.

An official from Jeonbuk State said, "We will build a stable export foundation that allows farms and businesses to grow together through the enhancement of the quality of agricultural and fisheries products and market diversification."
