(1) Reasons for Proposal
In accordance with the increased application of the HACCP system for aquacultures and the Comprehensive Measures to Improve Food Safety (December 2017), which aim for the hygienic management and improved quality of fishery products, this Amendment improves the system to strengthen safety control of certified fishery products.
(2) Major Provisions
A. Modify terms (title of the Notice)
Clarify the definitions of relevant terms by changing the term “위해요소중점관리” (hazard analysis and critical control points) to the more easily understood “안전관리인증기준” (hazard analysis and critical control points)
B. Increase the scope (Article 3)
Increase the applicable scope of applications for registration from the current “land-based fish farms” to “land-based aquacultures,” and include them in the applicable scope for applications for registration as a fishery right holder licensed for embankment farming
C. Simply registration (attached Table 1)
Omit documents that have been submitted multiple times upon registration, and modify provisions to a standard similar to other certification systems
D. Strengthen safety control (attached Tables 2 and 3)
Strengthen employee hygiene and hygiene control of materials and equipment, increase the frequency of safety inspections of drug purchase records and prescription storage and pre-shipment safety inspections, and add hygiene and safety standards for the management of sowed seedlings
