(1) Reasons for Proposal

Pursuant to Article 20, paragraph 2, subparagraph 6 of the 「Consumer Chemical Products and Biocides Safety Control Act (Entry into force January 1, 2019), as well as following the Enforcement Rule for the Act which is currently being legislated, this proposal seeks to specify the standards for the containers and packaging of biocidal products pertaining to average consumers as well as for child-resistant packaging, etc.

(2) Major Provisions

Specify general standards for containers and packaging of biocidal products, as well as the scope of application and safety standards for the protection of children

- General standards for appearance, strength, and leakage characteristics of the safety container and packaging for biocidal products (Table 1)

- Scope of application for child-resistant packaging (distinguishing individual/mixed substance), scope of exceptions, and safety standards (Table 2)
