(1) Reasons for Proposal
This proposal seeks to establish measurement methods for strength of electromagnetic waves in regard to wireless navigation land station/wireless detection land station, which have been included as subjects of report on electromagnetic waves strength, and wireless stations (wireless facilities) dealing with 5G mobile communications, which are poised for commercialization in March 2019, following the amendment to the Enforcement Decree on Radio Waves Act. The Amendment also seeks to supplement/improve some loopholes of the current Act in regard to related forms, etc.
(2) Major Provisions
A. Add measurement methods for electromagnetic wave strength for wireless navigation land station/wireless detection land station (Article 3)
Following the Amendment of Enforcement Decree on Radio Waves Act (Presidential Decree No. 28464, 2017.12.12.), add “Measurement methods for electromagnetic wave strength for wireless stations with RF Pulse-type signals” in regard to measurement methods of wireless navigation land stations/wireless detection land stations as attached Table 3, which were included in the standards for wireless stations under reporting obligations of electromagnetic wave strength as specified in attached Table 6 (in regard to Article 65)
B. Add measurement methods for electromagnetic wave strength in regard to 5G mobile communications (Article 3)
In regard to measurement methods for electromagnetic wave strength in regard to 5G mobile communications stations (wireless facilities), partially modify “Measurement methods for electromagnetic wave strength for wireless stations” in attached Table 1, and Add “measurement methods for power density of mobile (transmitting) wireless facilities above 6 GHz” as attached Table 4
C. Modify terms to comply with Korean spelling rule in regard to “siot” in between characters
Modify “최대값” to “최댓값” (Article 8)
D. Modify/Add measurement result report forms (Article 10)
Following the establishment of measurement methods for the new measurement of wave strength, partially modify the existing measurement result report (Forms 1~3) and add to each measurement result report (Forms 4~8)
E. Add references related to calculation of power density in the supplementary rules (Article 11)
Add that when calculating power density from electromagnetic field strength, attached Table 4 can be referred to in case of close distances
