(1) Reasons for Proposal

The Amendment designates synthetic resin products as consumer products subject to safety control in accordance with the Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act to prevent consumer harm caused by harmful substances in a number of synthetic resin products. It also modifies the units used for energy storage systems, an electrical appliance subject to safety control, to better reflect product characteristics and thereby aims to address weaknesses that have emerged from system operation.

A. Newly designate consumer products subject to safety control ([Attached Table 2], [Attached Table 6])

Distinguish between models in each category of consumer products subject to compliance with safety control, and add synthetic resin products to the scope of consumer products subject to compliance with safety control

B. Change units used for the rated capacity of energy storage systems ([Attached Table 4])

Change the units used for the rated capacity of energy storage systems from storage capacity units (kVAh) to output units (kW)
