(1) Reasons for Proposal
The Fire-fighting Equipment Control Act was enacted (Act no. 15301; promulgated on December 26, 2017; enforced on December 27, 2018) to improve the quality of fire-fighting equipment by prescribing the conformity testing of the structure, form, function, material, etc., of fire-fighting equipment against product assessment criteria; and the fair and transparent handling of certification affairs by checking the quality control situation and manufacturing processes of fire-fighting equipment manufacturers. Accordingly, this Rule prescribes matters necessary for detailed implementation of the certification of fire-fighting equipment.

A. Prescribe the types of fire-fighting equipment subject to certification (Article 3)
B. Prescribe matters concerning the quantity of samples to be submitted (Article 4)
C. Prescribe matters concerning on-site assessment criteria (Article 5)
D. Prescribe processing times for the certification of fire-fighting equipment (Article 6)

F. Prescribe matters concerning fees for certification applications and payment methods (Article 8)
