(1) Reasons for Proposal

The Motor Vehicle Management Act was amended (Act no. 16564; promulgated on August 27, 2019; to be enforced on February 28, 2020) to allow greater freedom in the use of motor vehicles for camping by deleting motor vehicles and trailers for camping from the scope of motor vehicles that are construed as motor vehicles for passengers and freight regardless of the number of passengers, and to newly establish safety requirements for camping equipment of motor vehicles for camping. Accordingly, this Amendment prescribes matters delegated by the Act and matters necessary for the enforcement thereof.

(2) Major Provisions

A. Prescribe safety requirements, etc., for camping equipment of motor vehicles for camping (Article 18-4, paragraph 2)

ㅇ Requirements for sleeping facilities of motor vehicles for camping, egress requirements to ensure safety in case of emergency, preventing storage compartments from opening while driving, etc.
