(1) Reasons for Proposal
In accordance with the amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Game Industry Promotion Act (Presidential Decree No. 30604, promulgated on April 7, 2020, to enter into force on May 8, 2020), which prohibits general game providing business entities and juvenile game providing business entities, etc., from providing or enabling the use of devices or software which automatically manipulate game input devices such as buttons to game users, this proposal aims to strengthen the criteria for administrative measures in case of violations to improve the effectiveness of such regulations.
(2) Major Provisions
Prescribe that general game providing business entities, juvenile game business providing entities, business entities providing Internet computer game facilities, and combined distribution and game providing business entities which provide or enable the use of devices or software that allow gaming progress by automatically manipulating game input devices such as buttons to game users, in violation of provisions that prohibit such behavior, shall be subject to a suspension of business for one (1) month upon the first violation, suspension of business for three (3) months upon the second violation, and cancellation of the permit/registration or closure of business upon the third violation, instead of a warning upon the first violation, suspension of business for five (5) days upon the second violation, suspension of business for ten (10) days upon the third violation, and suspension of business for one (1) month upon the fourth violation (attached Table 5, subparagraph 2 (d) 8) c)).
