(1) Reasons for Proposal
This aims to amend the Notice on Designation of Maritime and Fisheries Genetic Resources Requested for Overseas Transfer by adding maritime and fisheries genetic resources with high economic, academic, and ecologic values, eliminating taxonomically incorrectly identified species and reflecting changes in names, etc.
(2) Major Provisions
- Change the number of maritime and fisheries genetic resources requested for overseas transfer from 1,349 species to 1,475 species
- (Adding) Add 134 new maritime and fisheries genetic resources with high economic, academic, and ecologic values
* Species rated as the first to second classes among the species subject to being rated in 2019 (the first to third classes)
- (Elimination) Delete 8 species, such as species (2 species) managed by the Conservation and Management of Marine Ecosystems Act and taxonomically wrong species (6 species)
- Change the name of 123 species, including the revision of scientific names and Korean names by reflecting the latest research results
