(1) Reasons for Proposal

In accordance with Article 31 of the Fishery Products Distribution Management and Support Act whereby the distribution history management of imported fishery products has been transferred from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to the Korea Customs Service as of Oct. 1, 2020, this proposal aims to enact the Notice on Distribution History Management of Imported Fishery Products to prescribe and implement the criteria, procedure, etc. for the designation of subject items.

(2) Major Provisions

A. Prescribe the criteria for designating the “distribution history of imported fishery products” such as fishery products with proven hazards, etc. (Article 3)

B. Prescribe the procedure, subject items and deadline for designating the “distribution history of imported fishery products” (Article 4)

C. Prescribe regulations on the establishment and operation of a distribution history deliberation committee for deliberation on matters such as the designation of the “distribution history of imported fishery products” (Article 5)
