(1) Reasons for Proposal

This amendment aims to prevent accidental explosions by obligating the use of antistatic equipment in places where flammable liquid substances and liquid chemicals may leak.

(2) Major Provisions

A. Stipulate that the use of antistatic equipment in places where flammable liquid substances and liquid chemicals may leak is mandatory (Article 193).

B. Change the loanword “밸러스트 (ballast)” to “평형수 (ballast water)” to eliminate difficult legal terms (Articles 36, 37,109,117,125,132,145,171, and 183).
