(1) Reasons for Proposal
This Partial Amendment aims to strengthen performance standards by using mineral materials or ensure semi-incombustible materials or better ones as double-layered materials consisting of steel plates and heartwood and tighten regulations to apply performance standards to each finishing material of external walls as a whole.
Furthermore, it aims to use a real-scale performance test to additionally determine the fire spread prevention performance of double-layered materials and finishing materials of external walls consisting of at least two types of materials.
(2) Major Provisions
A. Regulate fire safety performance including double-layered heartwood material (Article 24, paragraphs 5, 7, and 8)
Use mineral materials or ensure that semi-incombustible materials or better ones are used as double-layered heartwood material, and ensure that finishing materials of external walls consisting of at least two types of materials have fire resistance performance.
B. Introduce a real-scale performance test including double-layered materials (Article 24, paragraphs 8 and 9)
Evaluate fire spread performance by considering double-layered materials consisting of steel plates and heartwood and finishing materials of external walls as a whole to conduct a real-scale performance test.
