(1) Reasons for Proposal

 The Amendment aims to devise the grounds for providing visual dormitory data to ensure that sufficient information is available in advance in the event employers provide dormitories to foreign workers, and

 to improve some items on the list of foreign worker dormitories that may be misleading as conforming to the dormitory facility standards, thereby improving and supplementing some shortcomings found in the operation of the current Act. 

(2) Major Provisions

 Require an employer who provides dormitories to foreign workers to submit a list of foreign worker dormitories and visual data (photographs, video images, etc.)

- Provide visual data such as dormitory view, bedroom interior (including locking devices), toilet, washroom/bathroom (including locking devices), cooling/heating facilities, lighting and ventilation facilities, firefighting facilities, storage space, etc. 

 Improve the list of foreign worker dormitories (Form 1 List of Foreign Worker Dormitories)

- Replace the resident registration number with the date of birth to protect personal information, specify the location stipulated in the Act on the place of installation, clarify lighting and ventilation facilities, firefighting facilities, etc.
