(1) Reasons for Proposal
This Partial Amendment aims to conduct safety and functionality reevaluation for 8 functional ingredients such as ginseng in 2020 under Article 15-2 of the Health Functional Foods Act, reflect its results, and change cautions for consuming 8 functional ingredients such as ginseng and red ginseng.
It also aims to amend the daily intake of digestion-resistant maltodextrin and aloe gel and tighten heavy metal specifications for chlorella.

1) Introduce a safety and functionality re-evaluation system at the latest science level for recognized functional ingredients with the Cynanchi wilfordii Radix scandal in 2015.
2) Reflect the “results of health functional food functionality and safety re-evaluation” conducted in 2020, amend cautions for consuming ginseng, red ginseng, chlorella, milk thistle extracts, marigold flower extracts, digestion-resistant maltodextrin, aloe gel, and MSM (8 ingredients), change the daily intake for digestion-resistant maltodextrin and aloe gel, and tighten heavy metal specifications for chlorella.
3) Provide consumers with safety information for functional ingredients evaluated at the latest science level and safe health functional products.
