1) Reasons for Proposal

This Partial Amendment aims to improve some shortcomings in the current system by newly inserting restrictions on changing pesticides, adding acceptable exposure for farming workers for new and some technical concentrates and acceptable daily intake levels for a new technical concentrate, and clarifying the acceptance scope of a crop residue GLP multiple packaging test certificate.

(2) Major Provisions

A. Restrict changing and registering applicable pesticides [Article 3, attached Table 8-3]

Restrict changing pesticides that may harm humans, animals, and the environment (applicable pesticides: daminozide hydrating powder, neoasozin liquid).

B. Additionally define acceptable exposure for farm workers [attached Table 4]

10 ingredients including methiozolin, dicamba, and phenthoate

C. Newly define acceptable daily intake levels [attached Table 4-2]

1 ingredient including dichlobentiazox

D. Recognize the residue test certificate submitted for existing pesticides as a GLP certificate [Addendum]

Recognize the test certificate submitted for registered pesticides at the time of filing for registration as a GLP certificate under Article 4 paragraph 1 subparagraph 5 of Pesticide and Technical Concentrate Registration Standards.
