1. Reason for revision

It is intended to improve unreasonable standards such as difficulty in application of current technology and excessive technical standards and to reflect the contents of replies to past civil appeals in the notification for clarification of current standard.

2. Main contents

A. Exclusion of installation of coaming such as windows, etc. (Article 7-4 of draft)

If deck windows satisfy the condition for omission of coaming (deck waterproof apparatus) such as water-tightness and water release, etc., coaming installation is excluded for convenience in use.

B. Relaxed engine room hole installation standard (Article 8.1 of draft)

If entrance of engine room is installed in the weathertight zone such as deckhouse, etc., the standard is relaxed so that installation of c wall may be omitted or the height may be reduced.

C. ○ Acceptance of equipment to be substituted with bilge pump (Article 14 of draft)

Provisions are relaxed so that manual bilge pump (one set) or baskets (two pieces) may be provided instead of powered bilge pump (one set) in case of an outboard vessel.

D. ○ Expansion of acceptance range of life-saving apparatuses (Article 51 of draft)

Expansion of acceptance range to domestic/foreign certified products in Standard on life-saving apparatuses of vessels in case of life-saving apparatuses of small vessels less than two (2) tons

E. Toilet equipment (Article 69 of draft)

Installation of simple toilets is allowed instead of toilet equipment under Vessel equipment standard to be applied to passenger ships which belong to small vessels having less than 16 of maximum number of passengers

F. Height and interval of ship light (Article 72-2 of draft)

As Ship light installation standard requires excessively high installation compared with the size of small vessels, the standard is revised to meet practical situation.
