1. Reason for revision
The aim is to expand the raw materials being used for the manufacture of proteins to all raw materials available for the manufacture of foods, to add functional help of ginseng—a functional raw material—for hepatic health, to delete whole aloe leaves including aloe peel (including latex) that is to be restricted from use as food, and to revise the total polyphenol testing method.
2. Main contents
A. Expansion of raw materials of proteins (Draft for Article 3. 1. 1-27)
1) There is a need to diversify the raw materials to be used for the manufacture of proteins.
2) Raw materials are expanded so that all the available food materials to supplement proteins may be used.
3) Due to the expansion of available raw materials of proteins, launch of various products is expected.
B. Addition of functions of ginseng (Draft for Article 3. 2. 2-1)
1) For the activation of ginseng products, there is a need to notify individually accepted functions.
2) The functions (aid in hepatic health) of ginseng, an individually accepted raw material, are reflected to the corresponding public notification-type raw material.
3) As the functions of a public notification-type raw material are expanded, activation of production is expected.
C. Deletion of whole aloe leaves, a functional raw material (Draft for Article 3. 2. 2-7)
1) Fear of human hazard is suggested in relation to whole aloe leaves containing aloe peel (including latex).
2) Whole aloe leaves are deleted from the list of functional raw materials.
3) As functional raw materials whose hazard was identified are deleted, the safety of health functional foods is expected to be guaranteed.
D. Revision of testing method (Draft for Article 4. 3. 3-59)
1) As the reagent for total polyphenol test is unavailable, substitutive reagents are required.
2) General reagents are added for the total polyphenol test.
3) With the testing method revised, efficient and accurate analysis is expected.
