1. Reasons for Amendment

In accordance with the Amendment to the Enforcement Rule of the Energy Use Rationalization Act (October 2021) which newly defined cascade boilers as being included in heat-using machines and equipment, this Partial Amendment aims to reflect relevant details such as related terms, inspection criteria, etc. in the notice while improving and supplementing certain shortcomings that have been confirmed during implementation of the notice.

2. Major Provisions

A. Include “cascade boilers” in the scope of application of the notice and newly establish relevant definition of terms, detailed inspection criteria (installation/construction, continued use, modifications, change of installation point), etc. (1.2.1, 1.3.1, 22.8, 23.4, 24.4, 26.4, 27.4, attached Form 26)

B. Clarify the definition of “modification inspection of major repairs” which had been rather ambiguous (1.3.7)

C. Permit overlapping attachment of safety valves on heat transfer boilers, include exceptions to disassembly maintenance in the case of shut down inspection of boilers and/or pressure vessels (22.3.2, 24.1.2.1, 48.1.1)
