1. Reasons for Enactment

As the Act on Nuclear Safety Information Disclosure and Communication and the Enforcement Decree of the same Act were enacted, these Regulations aim to specify the method and subject of information disclosure entrusted by the Act and the Enforcement Decree of the Act, and to stipulate matters (secretariat, detailed operational regulations) necessary for the operation of the Nuclear Safety and Security Council.

2. Major Provisions

A. Make it clear that the method of information disclosure by nuclear safety information-related institutions, etc., must include disclosure through information and communications networks (Article 2).

B. Stipulate a method of providing information to local residents around a nuclear power plant, such as operating a data room at the information sharing center (Article 3).

C. Specify the operational grounds for the secretariat and detailed operational regulations for the smooth operation of the Nuclear Safety Council (Articles 4 and 5).

D. Notify the nuclear safety information-related institutions entrusted with the affairs of the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and the entrusted information (Article 6).
