1. Reasons for Amendment
As the Rules on Motor Vehicle and Automotive Parts Performance and
Requirements were revised (Ordinance No. 797 of the Ministry of Land,
Infrastructure and Transport, promulgated on December 24, 2020) to harmonize
with international standards that reflect new technologies such as high-voltage
electrical devices and driving batteries of two-wheeled vehicles in order to
ensure the safety of electric two-wheeled vehicles, and such Rules were revised
to expand the installation target of the emergency automatic braking system to
passenger cars and freight/special motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight
of 3.5 tons or less and harmonize fuel systems and collision criteria for small
trucks with international standards, this amendment aims to improve and
supplement the shortcomings that have emerged from the operation of the current
system, such as clarification of test conditions and revision of referenced
provisions, in order to provide the test methods and procedures necessary for
the implementation of the revised provisions and prevent confusion during the test.
2. Major Provisions
