1. Reasons for Amendment

This Amendment is intended to improve and supplement some of the inadequacies in the operation of the current textbook system, such as the classification and duration of use of government-designated, authorized, and approved books, and securing fairness in the operation of the deliberative council of curriculum books.

2. Major Provisions

A. Reflect the unit of the grade group (elementary) of the curriculum in the Authorization (Article 10)

B. Adjust the review period of approved books related to not publicly notified subjects (Article 14)

C. Prescribe the period of use of curriculum books (Article 17-2)

D. Prescribe the classification of curriculum books as a matter for deliberation (Article 18) 

E. Reorganize the provisions of the terms, etc. of the deliberative council of curriculum books (Articles 19, 20-2, 21-2)

F. Newly insert a proviso to omit hearing procedures due to the cancellation of approved books (Article 39 (2))
