1. Reasons for Amendment
To protect marine ecosystems from marine pollution, etc., and conserve marine biological diversity, this amendment newly designates three marine organisms requiring protection: the common dolphin, Pacific white-sided dolphin, and seahorse, whose populations have declined rapidly due to overfishing and habitat destruction.
2. Major Provisions
A. Add marine organisms requiring protection (currently 88 designated species), which are designated by the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries in accordance with Article 2, subparagraph 11 of the Act for marine organisms in need of protection (attached Table 3).
