1. Reasons for Amendment
The purpose is to ensure the safety of the uninterruptible power supply by clearly defining the inspection details of the uninterruptible power supply and ensuring the effectiveness of the inspection
2. Major Provisions
A. Newly Insert definition of uninterruptible power supply in accordance with KS C IEC 62040-1:2017 and Korea Electric Code (KEC) (Article 3 subparagraph 30)
(Newly Inserted) Article 3 subparagraph 30 “Uninterruptible Power Supply” refers to a power supply configured by combining a power conversion device, a switch, a secondary battery, etc. to maintain continuity of load power during a power outage.
B. Uninterruptible power supplies shall be regulated by applying the inspection details of electrical storage devices which is similar in terms of facility configuration (Attached table 9 Ⅰ-14, Ⅱ-10, (Attached table 7 Ⅰ-4, Ⅱ-4)
* As uninterruptible power supplies are required to ensure safety, stipulate details for each facility configuration (wire lines, breakers, secondary batteries, power conversion devices, auxiliary facilities, load cutting and interlocking tests, grounding facilities)
Ⅰ-4: (Current) The inspection items of electrical equipment for business use shall apply mutatis mutandis to the inspection items of Power generation facilities for water power, wind power, fuel cells, solar power, and electrical storage devices, and civil engineering on underground lines
(Amended) The inspection items of electrical equipment for business use shall apply mutatis mutandis to the inspection items of Power generation facilities for water power, wind power, fuel cells, solar power, and electrical storage devices, uninterruptible power supplies, and civil engineering on underground lines
Ⅱ-4: (Current) The inspection items of electrical equipment for business use shall apply mutatis mutandis to the inspection items of Power generation facilities for water power, wind power, fuel cells, solar power, and electrical storage devices
(Amended) The inspection items of electrical equipment for business use shall apply mutatis mutandis to the inspection items of Power generation facilities for water power, wind power, fuel cells, solar power, and electrical storage devices, and uninterruptible power supplies
