1. Reasons for Amendment
The Long-term Care
Insurance Act was amended (Act No. 18610; promulgated on December 21, 2021; to
be enforced on June 22, 2023) to prescribe the administration of, and details
on, continuing education to strengthen the expertise of caregivers, and
stipulate compulsory installation and operation of closed-circuit television
systems in long-term care facilities. Accordingly, this amendment prescribes
matters delegated by the Act.
2. Major Provisions
A. Prescribe
standards on the administration of continuing education to caregivers employed
at long-term care institutions (target, content, method, etc. of education)
B. Prescribe
installation and management standards for closed-circuit television systems in
long-term care institutions, footage access procedures, matters to be examined
by local governments, etc.
