1. Reasons for Amendment
This amendment aims to contribute to the harmonization of the provisions on pressure-resistant containers for motor vehicles with other laws and regulations, the promotion of the development of hydrogen electric vehicle technology by easing regulations whose safety has been verified through demonstration, etc., and the expansion of supply and safety enhancement of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fueled motor vehicles.
2. Major Provisions
A. Strengthen the effectiveness of certification tests by harmonizing inspection items and methods for LPG pressure-resistant container design changes with the High-Pressure Gas Safety Control Act (Attached Table 3)
B. Avoid test errors by specifying the solidification point of the fluid used in the hydraulic cycling test for compressed hydrogen gas container safety devices (Attached Table 7)
C. Improve the mileage per charge by relieving the gap on the outer surface of the pressure-resistant containers of LNG-fueled motor vehicles and stipulate the installation of shock absorbers to supplement their safety (Attached Table 9)
