1. Reasons for Amendment
Work with a high possibility of causing a fire is performed in a stacked rack facility installed and operated for storage, classification, and distribution of goods. Therefore, this amendment aims to newly insert an item to limit work with a high fire risk on stacked racks and improve and supplement some deficiencies of the current regulations, such as reflecting fire-related law revisions and clarifying terms.
2. Major Provisions
A. Prohibit work with a high fire risk on stacked racks (Attached Table 1)
- When preparing a fire safety management plan, newly insert an item in the “fire prevention sector” to restrict work with a high fire risk on stacked racks and manage related information.
B. Reflect updates according to the enactment and revision of fire-related laws (Attached Table 1)
-As the Act on Fire Prevention and Installation, Maintenance, and Safety Control of Firefighting Systems was divided into the Act on Installation and Management of Firefighting Systems and the Fire Prevention and Safety Control Act (enforced on Dec. 1, 2022), reflect legal matters.
- Remove the relevant section as warehouse facilities are excluded from subjects of installing automatic fire signaling systems under the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Installation and Management of Firefighting Systems.
C. Clarify terms (Article 2)
- Clarify vague terms such as the fire safety plan, stacked racks, and visitors.
