1. Reasons for Amendment
In cases where non-housing is changed to quasi-housing to promote the supply of buy-to-rent public housing (February 4 Measures), the standard for the effective width of corridors was relaxed (Oct. 15, 2021) on the premise of a separate reinforcement plan so that the structure and shape of corridors are maintained as much as possible. However, this amendment aims to narrow the scope of housing eligible for a change of use and to establish a sunset deadline in consideration of fire risk by use and the status of project promotion in order to reinforce the evacuation safety of buildings.
2. Major Provisions
A. Narrow the scope of buildings that can change their use by applying the relaxation of the effective width of corridors (Article 15-2 (4))
Aim to reinforce the evacuation safety of buildings by narrowing the scope of quasi-housing that can change its use by applying the relaxation of the corridor width standard to dormitories with low fire risk due to the nature of building use.
