1. Reasons for Amendment

Decreases in the net quantity of contents are not easily identifiable by consumers and accordingly, this Amendment aims to provide consumers with accurate information by requiring the indication of any decrease in the net quantity of contents. 

2. Major Provisions

A. Newly insert provisions on the indication of changes to the net quantity of contents (1 (e) of Form 1)

  1) Although it is mandatory to indicate the net quantity of contents, it has been suggested that the lack of separate standards on indicating any changes to the net quantity of contents has resulted in consumers being left unaware of information on small changes to the net quantity of contents. 

  2) Prescribe mandatory indication of any change to the net quantity of contents when the net quantity of contents decreases and unit price increases, thereby strengthening consumer information provision and protecting the right to choose products.
