1. Reason for revision

A. As Article 69-2 revision of the Telecommunications Business Act (revised on July 18, 2023, implemented on July 19, 2024) and the revision of the Regulations on technical standards on broadcasting and communication equipment stipulate that mobile communication equipment shall be connected with the emergency power source of owner of the building for the proper operation of mobile communication equipment even upon the occurrence of fire, etc., the aim is to revise the technical standards by reflecting matters delegated by laws to connect mobile communication equipment with the emergency power source of owner of the building.

B. The aim is to cancel the sunset by reflecting the re-review result of the existing sunset regulation.

2. Main contents

A. Establishment of a provision stipulating that mobile carriers shall use flame-retardant power cables when connecting mobile communication equipment with the emergency power source of owner of the building (Article 38.2 of the Draft) 

B. Cancellation of the current sunset provision (Article 49 of the Draft)
