1. Reason for revision
It aims to provide matters delegated to the Enforcement Rules pursuant to the revision of the Bioethics and Safety Act (revised on February 20, 2024, implemented on August 21, 2024), and to improve the system for revitalizing research on human derivatives and to enhance the protection of their donors.
2. Main contents
a. It establishes provisions for free medical examinations and actual-cost compensation for sperm donors (Articles 23 and 24 of the draft).
b. It clarifies standards for the disposal of human derivatives, etc. (Article 36 of the draft).
c. It increases the methods of expressing refusal to provide remaining specimens (Articles 40-3 and 40-4 of the draft).
