1. Reason for Revision
A. As matters regarding qualification examinations for wood education specialists and operation of the examination, confirmation of domestic wood or domestic wood products and issuance of certificates thereof, and provisions on fines in substitution of business suspension have been added to the revised Act on the Sustainable Use of Timbers (Law No. 20086; promulgated on January 23, 2024; enforced on July 24, 2024), the revision establishes the legally delegated matters in detail.
B. As termites, which may cause damage to wooden structures, houses and buildings, have been discovered, the revision is intended to add termite prevention and control to the works performed by wood structural engineers, i.e. the related professionals, in response to termites.
