1. Reason for revision

The Enforcement Decree needs to be revised promptly as the Plant Protection Act has been revised to enforce the mandatory implementation of basic guidelines for farming households' voluntary control and prevention to prevent the spread of plant pests.

2. Main contents

a. Specifies the crops (apples, pears) subject to the request by the government to provide control-related data and information to farming households (Article 3-6 of the proposed revision)

b. Specifies matters delegated by Article 33-5 (2), such as obligation of farming households to complete preventive education and comply with preventive rules to prevent the spread of pests (Article 3-7 of the proposed revision)

c. Specifies the criteria for reducing loss compensation amounts for violations of obligations such as reporting, cooperating with surveys, education, and disinfection, and stipulates periods of time (10 years) to be applied when calculating the number of recurrences of the same pest (Article 4-2 (5) and (7) of the proposed revision)
