1. Reason for Revision

In accordance with the partial revision to the Act on the Promotion of Animation Industry* (February 2024), the proposed revision prescribes the matters delegated to the Presidential Decree for the enforcement of the revised Act.

* The provisions for the protection of workers engaged in the animation industry and the provisions for creating a fair distribution environment within the animation industry have been established and supplemented, and the Promotion of the Motion Pictures and Video Products Act has been applied mutatis mutandis to most of the provisions.

2. Main Contents

a. The revision defines animation workers as workers according to Subparagraph 1 of Article 2 of the Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act (Article 1-2).

b. The revision prescribes the period of exclusion from financial support projects related to wage arrears, etc. as 1 year (Article 12-2).
