1. Reasons for revision and main contents

a. The purpose of the proposed revision is to provide the matters necessary for the implementation following revision of the Infectious Diseases Control and Prevention Act (Law No. 2126014, promulgated on January 23, 2024, and implemented on July 24, 2024), as the Commissioner of Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency is now required to submit a report on the processing of personal information, including notification of the information subjects. (Article 47-3 of the Draft)

b. The proposed revision rationalizes the requirements for essential equipment when declaring a business of disinfection services in order to make the business of disinfection services declaration standards more practical. (Appendix 8 of the Draft).

c. A new field is being inserted into the report form to collect information concerning the date of birth of patients infected with an infectious disease who do not have a resident (or resident alien) registration code, which is used when an outbreak of an infectious disease is reported. The proposed revision also prescribes the methods of collecting and filling in accurate information when reporting a death (autopsy) by allowing modifications or revisions of such reports by referring to common information areas, even in cases where an outbreak of an infectious disease has already been reported (i.e. about the same persons, and the same infectious diseases).
