1. Reason for Revision and Main Contents

As the Airport Facilities Act has been revised (Law No. 20291; promulgated on February 13, 2024; enforced on August 14, 2024) to strengthen the measures for preventing ground safety accidents within airport protection zones and to provide compensation for losses incurred in the process of eradicating illegal drone flights in the vicinity of airports, the proposed revision prescribes the matters delegated by the Act and the matters necessary for its implementation by establishing the details of the safety training that must be completed by aviation-related workers, the frequency of and procedures for inspecting aviation-related business organizations’ and workers’ compliance with the safety management standards, as well as the formats of various documents to be submitted for compensation for losses incurred in the process of eradicating illegally flying drones, etc.
