1. Reason for Revision

As the legal basis has been provided for surveying, predicting, and assessing the impact that development projects etc. undertaken around world heritage sites may have on their outstanding universal values, the proposed revision aims to provide the matters delegated by the Act and the matters necessary for their enforcement.

2. Main Contents

a. Establishment of target projects for Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) (Newly established Article 3-2 and attached Table 1 of the draft)

b. Setting evaluation items for HIA (Newly established Article 3-3 of the draft) 

c. Establishing procedures for HIA (Newly established Articles 3-4 to 3-6 and Articles 3-8 to 3-12 of the draft)

d. Designation and revocation requirements for Heritage Impact Assessment Agency (Newly established Article 3-7 of the draft)

e. Designation and revocation requirements for Heritage Impact Assessment Support Center (Newly established Article 3-13, attached Table 2 of the draft)
