1. Reason for Enactment

Based on the revision to the Personal Information Protection Act (promulgated on March 14, 2023) and the Enforcement Decree of the same Act, the proposed enactment aims to specify the information transmitters and the information subject to requests for transmission in the health and medical sector, as delegated by the Public Notice.

2. Main Contents

a. Information transmitters (Article 2 of the draft) 

- The revision stipulates the personal information processors from whom data subjects may request the transmission of personal information in the health and medical sector.

b. Information requested to be transferred (Article 3 of the draft)

- The revision stipulates the information that data subjects in the healthcare sector can request to be transmitted by information transmitters.
