1. Reason for Revision
To alleviate the time and financial burdens on candidates preparing for national exams, the recognition period for scores or grades obtained from foreign language proficiency tests substituting the foreign language section of qualification exams—such as tour interpreter guides, certified hotel operators, certified hotel managers, and certified hotel service managers—will be extended from two years to five years.
2. Main Contents
The revision extends the recognition period for test scores that substitute the foreign language sections, such as English, of qualification exams for tour interpreter guides, certified hotel operators, certified hotel managers etc. from two years to five years (Article 47 of the draft).
* For the French language tests DELF and DALF, which were previously excluded from the period of recognition of language test scores because they could not be retaken but for which re-application became possible as of 2021. Based on this revision, the scores should be submitted within the expanded recognition period. (However, this will apply from January 1, 2026 according to the transitional provisions of the Addenda.)
